Al S. Davis, the founder of Davis Financial Planning, has been recognized as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ since 2007 and has been in the financial services industry in western North Carolina since 2000. He is an enrolled agent (EA) allowing him to practice before the IRS.
Al began his financial services career working closely with small businesses and their owners as a small business client manager and Asheville senior banking executive for Bank of America. Subsequently, he provided holistic financial planning and advice for affluent and high net worth clients as the private banking manager and wealth services team leader for SunTrust. He then managed all banking activities in western North Carolina as Western Region Executive with Capital Bank.
Al founded Davis Financial Planning in 2010. He is a member of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners (ACP), the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), The National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Land of Sky Estate Planning Council.
Al has been active in the Asheville community having served on the boards of directors of the UNC Asheville Foundation, the Health Adventure, the Asheville Jaycees, the Kiwanis Club of Asheville, and the Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation. Al is currently the President of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners and the immediate past President of the Land of Sky Estate Planning Council.
Al is also a long-time supporter and volunteer with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC. Al graduated from Appalachian State University earning a degree in business administration in 1991 and earned an MBA from The University of Tennessee in 1993.
Anne joined Davis Financial Planning in March of 2013. Anne has been recognized as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ since 2016.
Before joining Davis Financial Planning, Anne was a professional librarian at the State University of New York at Oneonta, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s Research Center.
Anne loves working with clients. She states that helping clients reach their financial and personal goals makes it easy and exciting to come to work each day.
Anne has a B.A. in Religion from Gettysburg College and a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ courses at the State University of New York at Cobleskill. When not working, Anne enjoys exploring the city of Asheville and surrounding areas, yoga, water aerobics, walking the hills, flat water kayaking, reading, and enjoying time with family and friends near and far.
Rick joined Davis Financial Planning in 2016 after successful careers in education and social work. Rick dedicated 10 years to teaching all levels of high school mathematics, including AP Calculus, in both the public and private sectors. Rick attained his National Board Certification in 2010 and was a mentor to numerous student and new teachers. While teaching, he enjoyed incorporating financial literacy concepts into the classroom at an early age.
Rick enjoys living in Asheville and exploring all that the mountains have to offer in the form of hiking, mountain biking, and other adventures that involve his wife and two young children. He also coached tennis at the high school level for 6 years and enjoys playing in local tennis leagues. He loves the wonderful music, cuisine, and heritage of this great part of our country.
Rick attended Pepperdine University and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1995. He gained his teaching certificate in secondary mathematics education in 2006 through courses at the University of Minnesota and Western Carolina University. Rick is excited to be a part of and contribute to the Davis Financial Planning team!
